Who We Are

The Pacific Gospel Music Association is an educational non-profit organization made up of Christian music artists from the Pacific Northwest United States. PGMA was originally organized as the Oregon Gospel Music Association (OGMA) in 1992, but the name was changed to the current “PGMA” in 1999. The goal of this organization is to provide education to the artists and the public about all types of gospel music to preserve and enhance this American music form.

In 1992, we presented our first Annual Fall Music festival. It was a small event, hosted at Harrisburg High School, in Harrisburg, Oregon, with an audience of approximately 200 people. But that was enough to encourage us to keep going. We continued on, entertaining and educating small to medium-sized crowds for the next decade or so, using high school gyms and churches as venues.

Then in 2003, we moved to the Linn County Fair Grounds and made a dedicated advertising effort. During the next three years the crowds grew. In 2006 we moved to the First Baptist Church in Eugene and the entire event began to take on a new, more polished and professional air.

In 2010 we moved to the beautiful Valley River Inn, in Eugene, Oregon where the annual festival has become known as a “Gospel Music Retreat Weekend” . All the concerts and activities are held under the same roof as the lodging – so folks will never have to leave the building if they don’t want to!

Now it is 2014 and we are in the preparation stages for our festival at the Eugene Hilton Hotel on November 6, 7 & 8.

See you there!!
