Bethel Mountain Band

We are a group of seven guys all in our 50’s and 60’s (including six who grew up in Mennonite churches singing 4-part harmony) and we have a Gospel Bluegrass group . We are basically a quartet with acoustic instruments (mandolin, banjo, guitar, harmonica and bass).

Bethel Mountain Band specializes in old-time gospel songs so we appeal to older audiences. We do mostly churches, retirement homes, and some festivals, but we only do a few non-gospel numbers in non-church settings. We regularly give a service to Mennonite Village, the local retirement village in Albany. We don’t sound like a bluegrass group…more like southern gospel with stringed instruments instead of a piano. You can listen and make your own judgment.

Google the band name and we’re the first couple that pop up. On our website, if you go to the tab “Our Music” you can hear clips from our cd- 12 gospel numbers. We all have other jobs but do about 25 to 30 concerts a year.
